Feeding of new 4.18 kV switchgear ( with 2 C.B.S plus one tie C.B.) is provoded to be done with H.V.cables connected directly to the buses 4.18 kV of two existing switchgears.
My question is - protection of H.V. cables. If any problem with new installed cables 4.18 kV exists, existing switchgears 4.18 kV must be turned OFF.
What is your experience about that ? Is it still practice to do these connections without switching devices ? How to protect these H.V. cables and minimize trips ?
