I hope someone has answers for me as I think this is a difficult question.
I have to find out for this science project, how much weight this bar can support before it becomes deformed or bends too much.It is a 5/8 ths of an inch diameter medium - tensile rod/bar (1040) which is supported at each end on bearings and is 10 inches between the bearings.
I have been told by the steel supplier that it is 620 mpa. Can you aim me in the right direction please or is this a very difficult query?
