i am very much confused regarding the usage of moment of inertia in beam designing and also in the columns.i could not visualise how this moment of inertia will be.i have referred a lot of books but they have hitech explanations.
note:can any one explain the concept of inertia i a very simplified with a lot of practical examples.also i need the reason why we include this factor in civil engineering calculations
