New Member Information
Thank you for your interest in joining the Iowa Engineering Society!
As a special consideration, NEW IES members will receive Introductory Membership Rate for the first year which is half the price of regular annual dues and includes any regional Chapter dues, during your first membership period. These prices are effective only until the beginning of the next IES fiscal year which begins on January 1st of each year, regardless of when you join during the previous cycle.
Membership Types and Introductory Dues:
Licensed P.E.
- I hold a valid license as a Professional Engineer in the U.S. or Canada.
- Introductory Dues $120 (from Join Date until December 31st of that year)
- Regular Annual Membership Rates: $220/year (after January 1st of first year)
- Chapter Dues- charged after Introductory period. Fees vary depending on the Chapter.
Engineer Intern Over the Age of 35
- I hold valid Engineer Intern certification in the U.S. and am 35 years of age or older at the time of this application.
- Introductory Dues $120 (from Join Date until December 31st of that year)
- Regular Annual Membership Rates: $220/year (after January 1st of first year)
- Chapter Dues- charged after Introductory period. Fees vary depending on the Chapter.
Engineer Intern Under the Age of 35
- I hold valid Engineer Intern certification in the U.S. and am under the age of 35 years at the time of this application.
- Introductory Dues $60 (from Join Date until December 31st of that year)
- Regular Annual Membership Rates: $120/year (after January 1st of first year)
- Chapter Dues- charged after Introductory period. Fees vary depending on the Chapter.
Associate Member
- I have an engineering degree from a recognized curriculum and am actively pursuing an engineering career, or I am engaged in postgraduate engineering study, but I am neither an E.I. nor a P.E.
- Introductory Dues $60 (from Join Date until December 31st of that year)
- Regular Annual Membership Rates: $120/year (after January 1st of first year)
- Chapter Dues- charged after Introductory period. Fees vary depending on the Chapter.
Affiliate Member
- I do not have the education or experience to become a licensed Professional Engineer but I am engaged in the practice of technical skills or professional skills allied or affiliated with the engineering profession.
- Introductory Dues $60 (from Join Date until December 31st of that year)
- Regular Annual Membership Rates: $120/year (after January 1st of first year)
- Chapter Dues- charged after Introductory period. Fees vary depending on the Chapter.
Student Member
- I am enrolled full time in an ABET accredited engineering program, or I am enrolled full time in a graduate level engineering program. STUDENT Member applicants: Please select "Stutent" category and be sure to complete the College fields on the membership application.
- FREE- Your IES membership is complimentary as long as you are a full time student.
RENEWING YOUR MEMBERSHIP:
If you are already a member of IES and you wish to RENEW your annual membership, IES will send automatic renewal notices to the email address we have on file for you beginning 3 months prior (October 1) to the end of the fiscal year (December 31) of each year. The renewal notices will be sent regularly to the email address listed under your profile until you complete your renewal process. The message will include an invoice for your records and a link to renew online. If you do not receive these notices during this time-frame, please the IES Office at [email protected].
