CONFERENCES/PROGRAMSIES offers several programs to our membership throughout the year. Some programs are for educational, motivational and networking purposes for members and others help to advance and promote the engineering field. Some of the current programs are listed below.Annual ConferenceThe Iowa Engineering Society holds the Iowa Engineering Conference in May of each year. This is typically a 1 1/2 day meeting held in the Des Moines are (see Calendar of Events for more information). Programming and registration details are typically available on this site and promoted to members approximately 8 weeks prior to the conference (around March). The agenda includes educational programs with continuing education credits, meals and the Awards Dinner and recognition for the winners of the ACEC-IA Engineering Excellence Awards. Calendar of EventsMATHCOUNTSIowa Engineering Society's statewide mathematics competition encourages and rewards math excellence in our state's middle and junior high schools. IES members reach hundreds of young people every year. IES Chapters typically hold their competitions in February and state finalists compete at the State Competition typically at the end of March/ early April each year at the Olmsted Center of Drake University in Des Moines. PE Leadership Program The PE Institute is aimed at giving practicing professional engineers the leadership skills needed to succeed in this demanding profession.
